Christmas in no particular order

Image
My Sister in law Mindi did this with her three girls a few days before Christmas, we have a Christmas Eve dinner (formalish) at my in-laws so on Christmas we tend to go really simple and do breakfast for dinner but when I saw this I thought this would be perfect to do with the kids on Christmas and Nathan makes "killer" pizza so we made a snowman pizza for the kids and let them decorate it and a regular one for us. It needed another "button" but that is how the kids wanted it. Natali, Noah and Kate having the time of their lives. Noah wanted to put bread on it. I talked him out of it. Natali showing off her loot. She got barbie's and barbie furniture to go in the doll house her cousins handed down to her. I was completely SHOCKED! I needed this bad I won't even tell you what I went through to make cookies this year. I did it anyway though and enjoyed it but oh how I wish I would have had this just a few weeks early (if you can't see it it is a Kitchen Ai...

Tricia

Image
Happy Birthday Tricia!!!! Tricia is Nathan's oldest sister. She is a concert pianist and is extremely talented and teaches piano from her home. She has raised 4 beautiful musicians. Her oldest daughter Megan is 15 and plays the piano and the violin. Carlie is 14 and plays the cello and piano, Hanna is 12 and plays the viola and piano and Haley is 8 and also plays the piano and violin. She has raised her own string ensemble and I must say they are all very talented. She is married to Kelly who is a fabulous father to all girls. Happy Birthday Tricia!

Merry Christmas!

This is our annual Christmas letter for those who didn't receive it in the mail. Love you all and Merry Christmas! December 2008 Is another year gone again? Where does the time go? It went by so fast that I am in awe at the fact it is already mid December and I am just barely writing our yearly Christmas letter. I try to do a photo story of our family every year for our family but the time has just got away from us so this year all you get is this annual Christmas form/brag letter. We hope it finds you all well and happy. Let’s start with bragging about the children. They amuse us in the smallest ways and are truly a joy. Natali is now 5 and started Kindergarten this year and LOVES it. She is now reading short books and is very excited about it. She is the most giving little girl as she is always making cards, letters, and the sort for her family, friends, and teachers. She is also very compassionate. She is always worried if someone gets hurt or isn’t feeling well. Her biggest co...

Worth it?

Yes! It was worth a cold freezing night with paper thin comforter on the bed and wire strapped to my head and legs and chest without the warmth of my husband next to me, to finally know that I do NOT have sleep apnea. That is a good thing right? Of course! Now granted everyone was probably expecting me to be disappointed but NO I am really grateful that I don't have to go to bed every night with a CPAP machine sucked to my face. So I am thrilled. Yes, I must admit that I felt prompted to have this test done. Why? I don't know, but nonetheless, I was "driven" to have it done, it is done, we have an answer and really that is all that matters. I honestly have felt lately that I am being "tested." I mean that is what life is all about right? To be tested to see if we are going to listen to the spirit and if we are going to act on it right? Well, a former Relief Society President and good friend of mine once taught in a lesson in Relief Society that if you are a...
Another one I just am a succor for. This was on Tara's blog 1. embarrassing moment: Oh...let's see I think the most embarrassing and most shameful moment of my life was when I was casting a show at Durango (with the help of the music director) we were both casting this together as it was a musical. And well...I had some pretty impatient students whom one called me and wanted to know if the cast list was up. I told this student no and that I would not post it until the next morning and then this student proceeded to ask me if we had the cast figured out yet. (I said we are 98% sure what the cast is) and this student begged me to disclose to this student what the cast was that we were 98% sure of and I caved and was a softy and told the student, reminding the student that it was only 98% sure. This student promised to keep a sealed lip and wouldn't anything to anyone and so I went ahead and told this particular student. (can we see where this is going...) so needless to say...
I saw this on my friend Marie's blog and it sounded fun. I am a sucker for these things. Anyway..I started this a couple of days ago but never posted it for some reason. I thought it was funny so what you do is put your ipod on shuffle or whatever music "contraption" you listen too. I shuffled my list on my blog and used it. LOL! Anyway you put in the names of the songs it shuffles to each of these questions. A couple of mine I just laughed. IF SOMEONE SAYS "IS THIS OKAY" YOU SAY? "For the First time" WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY? "You and Me" WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL? "Falling Star" WHAT IS YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE? "You're still you" WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO? "I Need Love" WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU? "Like a Prayer" WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VERY OFTEN? "Amazed" WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIEND? "Time of My Life" WHAT DO YOU THINK O...

Just had to share this...

So as you can see Natali lost a tooth. She finally let Daddy yank it with dental floss and she got whip cream for doing so and of course the tooth fairy came and left her a buck. WOW! how the price of teeth have gone up. I only got 25 cents for each of my teeth. (not complaining) anyway..so even though her other friends have lost teeth and have loose teeth she is a bit self conscience about it and so today decided to do a poll to see who thought she looked adorable with her lost tooth. (those were my words that I thought she was adorable without her tooth) so anyway I guess she didn't believe me so she decided to ask everyone. (meaning her brother and sister as Daddy isn't home to answer and we all know what his answer will be anyway) so she asks Kate if she thinks she is adorable with her lost tooth. Kate nods her head no. LOL! So Natali gets all excited because she thinks her theory is correct that only Mommy thinks she is adorable and then she asks Noah and his response is t...

This is NUTS!

I am not use to this weather. I do not like, nor did I like it when I lived where it usually dumps like this, I feel like I am in Utah again, and last time I checked I have not moved. Schools are closed tomorrow (thank goodness, you couldn't get me out in this stuff). The airport is grounded and this is just insane weather for Las Vegas. We don't have snow plows or snow blowers. We don't own shovels or ice scrapers for the cars. (or most of vegas doesn't) we happen too...but...yeah...anyway...just had to share. Usually snow falls and it is gone by morning, not this time! Noah and Kate in the snow Natali, Noah and Kate showing off snowballs, except Natali threw hers in the air just as I was snapping the picture. Kate trying to catch snow on her tongue Noah and his snowball Natali was just thrilled Just for the record I did NOT want them to go out and play in it. I did not want the wet and dirty mess it entails. But when you have three adorable kids begging you how can y...

I'm making soup tonight!

Image
I promised the kids if there was enough to make a snowball I would let them play in it after Kate's nap. I was praying it would stop and melt but unfortunately not looking in my favor. Sigh...My carpet is already wet and muddy from when I let them go out in it when it first started. Have I said lately I don't like snow. This is out my front door. Burr.....I think I might need to go and rescue Nathan to scrape his car off when he gets out of his meeting at 5. We do have a scraper but unfortunately it is in MY car. I do not want to drive in this. I might also tell him he needs to stop and buy a shovel if this keeps up. Yes, we still live in Las Vegas. I know a lot of people are happy with this but really I could do with out it. So with all this snow I have decided to make soup tonight!

Hallelujah!

I know I get excited over little things. Okay...it might be little to you, but really this is huge for me. I am so excited and wondering WHY I am excited about this, really I shouldn't be but...I am finally scheduled for my sleep study!!!! HAZZAH! I have been trying to get this scheduled since October and I can't believe it is finally approved, authorization in, and scheduled for next Tuesday night. YEAH! But can some one tell me why they would wake a person at 4 am to send them home if they do have sleep apnea? Check in is 7 p.m. and check out is 4 a.m. That seems so um....wrong! What are they thinking?! But whatever, I have been woken up several times in the middle of the night to feed a hungry crying baby. I think I can handle this.

Playing Catchup

Image
Okay I have tried to do this and I just totally lost it somewhere in October and tried to make up for it and then did it again. I really want to do this so I have to catch up again. I might just do it monthly but hopefully I can actually do it on the day...If I miss someone it is because I just completely spaced it OR I don't know your birthday. So if you want to be added you will have to give me your birthday. Starting for November November 9 Haley turned 8 and was baptized the day after Thanksgiving. She is our niece and loves our daughter Natali. She has three sisters and her mom is Nathan's sister. She is a wonderful swimmer and loves playing with her Webkinz. November 13 Audrey is my brother's oldest daughter. She is obsessed with High School Muscial because of her Mom (LOL) and she is 7. She is excited to get baptized next year and loves school. She has two younger sisters. November 20 Brittani is my niece. She is my oldest sister's oldest daughter. She is curre...

Christmas Tag

Christmas Tag 1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper is more fun but I use both 2.Real tree or artificial? Artificial, real is like taking 30-150 bucks and throwing it away. Not worth the hassle or the clean up IMO. 3.When do you put up the tree? Usually November 1 but this year it was just this last weekend 4.When do you take the tree down? Saturday after Christmas 5.Do you like Eggnog? Love it! 6. Favorite gift received as a child? My violin, that I now never play and needs some major fixage. 7. Hardest person to buy for? When we were doing gifts between siblings on Nathan's side Cyndie and Dee were the hardest but now that we no longer do that, I would say my parents believe it or not. 8. Easiest person to buy for? my kids 9. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes but not exciting or all that. I would really like a new one 10.Mail or email Christmas cards? This year, none. LOL! Just kidding mail... 11.Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Um...I really can...

8 Things about Me

Image
I was tagged by my Sister in law a while ago and never did it. I guess I will now. Lawdy dah.. 8 random things about me for your reading pleasure...or whatever.... 1. I stress over everything...more than necessary...we were discussing this yesterday in Temple Prep class at church as two sisters who are preparing to enter the temple and are kind of stressing because they want it to be "just" perfect. As it should be. One sister related it to a wedding and for two couples they will be getting sealed so yeah...it's huge. But we tended to dwell on the fact that I am soooo like that. Just ask Nathan he attests to my stressing over things that probably don't need to be stressed over so much. LOL! 2. I was deprived at Thanksgiving in the area of green olives and cranberry (jellied kind) sauce. I LOVE them and HAVE to have them at Thanksgiving. I obsessed so much over it (see #1) that I bought them before leaving for Salt Lake and then stayed in Riverton with Nathan's sis...

Too much to catch up on

Image
I have been MIA for a while in the blogging aspect of things. Many things I want to blog about but haven't had time. Since before our Thanksgiving trip I have been trying to finish up my final for my class and then came back to a dog with a cone on his head, the kids broken computer a garage project and well, lots of laundry and so on and so forth. So.... I still have yet to update everyone on Kate's birthday, Thanksgiving, Haley's baptism, Zeus's surgery, Zeus's tramatic (on me) recovery and just life in general right now. So in no particular order here we go on updates. This was just after Haley's baptism and some of the kids striking their poses (left to right and right to left) Megan, Zachary, Noah, Brenden, Hanna, and Carlie Lunch at Quizno's the fun things you find in the kids meals ME Natali Noah Nathan Crazed Natali- she is enjoying the Salt Lake trip just a little TOO much! Kate wondering WHY her mom is taking a picture in the church (Haley's ba...
