Coupons

Image
So I have several friends/family who swear up and down that using coupons and a website and using this"system" you can save close if not 1/2 on your monthly budget + stock up on food storage at the same time. Using a website and matching sales with coupons...so yeah sounds GREAT! So I ordered a Sunday only paper and am getting coupons plus the coupons from my mother in laws paper as well as she can't use the coupons for the food they offer because of her many allergies. So this is technically my second month although last month I didn't have a newspaper. It was technically all sale items (and one online coupon) Well, tell me what I am doing wrong because I am NOT saving! (at least that much) Granted this is only the 2nd month and they say it takes about 3 months to see a difference. I will continue to try but the more I look at things and such I just DON'T see how people are getting cereal for $.50 or toothpaste for free without doubling up coupons. I mean seriou...

As I had just finished getting the kids eating their lunch. I returned to the kitchen to finish getting my lunch on a plate when I hear this conversation Natali: "I wonder how they make green eggs and ham?" Noah: "OH!!!...I know! They put green frosting in the eggs mix it up and then cook them!" I really like green eggs! That just gave me a chuckle. First Noah LOVES frosting. Second, he has NEVER had green eggs. LOL!

Smarter than she lets on

The kids love Sid the Science Kid. Well, as most of you know Kate is two but speaks very very little. Well, she is a smart kid though. The other day Sid the Science kid was on and they were investigating things that are "scratchy". Sid had a tag in the back of his shirt that was bothering him and then after school he and his dad cut out all the tags in his shirt. So since then Kate is making me each day cut the tag from her shirts. Sigh....

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Although I have 1% or something like that Irish in me. This day has really never had much meaning for me. Oh....wear green or get pinched. So uh....not so fun...Well, until I got married. A year after we got married I was sitting one day in the first week of March pondering over things and thinking that just a year before Nathan had proposed and our lives changed (for the good of course) and then realized that Nathan proposed on St. Patrick's Day. I went to an old calendar and to my journal and sure enough he really did propose on St. Patrick's Day. So, I decided to make St. Patrick's Day special that year. I went and bought a St. Patrick themed material and made a table cloth. Bought some green carnations I think and made a nice breakfast for him. He was a bit shocked because although he proposed on St. Patrick's Day neither one of us had realized it until the following year. So it now is special to us as we ponder back at my fickleness, the divine intervention of th...

Well, to make a long story long, Nathan had to go to Salt Lake on business this last week. So he wanted to fly I mean (wanted to fly...) if you catch my drift. Well, his paranoid wife = ME was overly paranoid of him flying alone! So I asked him to take Southwest...well he really wanted to fly on his own and really tried to be convincing but I was hormonal, as we women can be some times and I guess you could say I gingerly threw a fit as he has only had his pilots license for two weeks! So he tried to find a more experienced pilot whom might have wanted to fly with him and ease my mind a bit but to no avail it didn't happen so he lovingly took Southwest. But on the condition that he could fly me more than just around the flight pattern here in Henderson but fly me somewhere else (for a longer period of time) so I agreed. He flew me over to Boulder City to see the dam and back around to return to the Henderson airport. As much as I want to love flying as much as he does. It is just n...

The Good, The Bad, and...The UGLY!

Image
Well, I can say I survived the weekend! The Good! Nathan took me up in the air. I will admit I was a bit freaked out and after 5 minutes in the traffic pattern I was ready to be done for that time. I felt bad but yeah...I am toying with the idea of us taking Natali up for her birthday. I will be freaked out but she really wants to go...so we shall see...I would of course have to go too because she might freak out and someone besides Nathan will need to keep her calm if that happens. Also the good! We spent time as a family on Saturday and it was nice. We went to Nathan's office for a bit and the kids played on the swivel chair. Oh..the simple joys... We also went out and the kids road their bikes it was a beautiful day! The BAD! Now granted this picture is of Noah riding his bike but his sunshine expression reminded me of the horror when I smashed his finger in the car door. It was fine and all but after the ugly incident you are about to read it was not a good Friday! AND..... THE...

Pilot's license, hair cut, food storage and much more

I just don't blog as much as I use too and not as often as I would like. LOL! Well first thing is first. HE PASSED! Nathan is officially a private pilot for a small aircraft! Congratulations!!! Here he is holding his 'temporary' license meaning it serves as his license until the type up and mail him his official one. I have to tell you I was a bit shocked. His test was at 6 a.m. and he told me the test lasts about 4 1/2 to 5 hours. So I was expecting him home about 10:30 at the earliest because after they land he still has to refuel taxi back to his space and tie down the airplane that is about a 30 minute or so ordeal. So I was quite shocked when I heard the garage door go up at 9:30!!! I was afraid I would be comforting him. So he comes in and starts to come up stairs where I was just finishing up baths with the kids and I say wow that was really fast and he says "well that happens...." and then I just blurt out "when you fail?" I mean what if he reall...
