Dr. Ivey

Image
Okay...so I have a lot I want to blog about and little time so lets start out with what I think everyone wants to know the most about. My Dr.'s appointment with my new Dr. So for those of you who know me and talk to me on a regular basis probably know how I feel about my Obstetrician Dr. Sauter. So...if you know how I feel about him I can honestly say after just one appointment I think I can truly say I think I finally found my Dr. Sauter in Cardiology. I learned more today about myself and my heart condition than I have ever known before and it made sense and I felt great after talking with her. So what did I learn? I learned that. 1. Dr. Ivey knows her stuff 2. I have a "Syndrome" (and needless to say I can't remember the name if she told it to me but she said it is irrelevant anyway because the mitral valve is fixed and it is just a matter of managing things 3. She described things about my heart and the condition I did not know from her just reading my operative r...

Women's Conference

So I almost didn't go tonight. It has been a rough week and I didn't want to socialize or what not but I realized that that was more a reason to go. Plus Nathan came home and kicked me out anyway. J/K. Any way so I am sure you have had those moments where you say to yourself this was ALL for me, no one else, just me! Yeah, I am sure others needed to hear it too but I just loved Sister Beck and Elder Uchtdorf's talks. And what I heard that I needed to hear may be completely different for others hearing the same words. But for me they were exactly what I needed to hear and was so uplifting and positive. It got me out of my "dumps" attitude and got me thinking of what I can do to take my mind off of my own issues and exercise my faith, change the way I do some things and do a little bit more than what I am doing. Now both of the talks were vastly different but it all applied to me in some way right NOW! I won't go into details about how I felt except that I wa...

I am succor for these things!

I am : Ruth I think : too much I know: God lives, Jesus Christ is our Savior and that through Him we can return to live with them again I want: Nathan and the kids to be happy, my dream house, more children I dislike: beets, Impossible Pie (I won’t describe it) and Pumpkin Pie, I also dislike being told what to do and what is right for myself or my family, I dislike hypocrisy I miss: being pregnant, my dog Baloo, and my family that live in Salt Lake I fear: not being able to have any more children, losing my husband or children or them having to experience a debilitating disease or accident I feel: frustrated with my health I hear: my kids playing and voices in my head telling me I am wasting valuable time that I could be cleaning. I smell: bubble bath and shampoo from my kids bath I crave: to be pregnant again, that my heart would beat normally, chips and salsa, ooey gooey brownies or better than “sex” cake. I cry: at practically everything. I am such a emotional person! I ...

Just for Giggles!

Kids do the dardnest things! Here is Noah's drinking cup and this is where he decided to stash it. What made him think of that is beyond me. Here is another picture below of it from a distance. This kid cracks me up. He has been stashing his cups in the oddest of places since he was 2. I'd find cups with milk 4 days old in some strange places. Now he isn't allowed to take his cups out of the kitchen period and this is what he comes up with. He is now 4 and still tends to find weird places to store his cup. Don't mind the awful cut offs that my Natali is wearing. (so embarrassed) but I threw a Baby shower for my friend Cassandra and her son decided to start this trend. Natali with a balloon up her shirt. Here is Cassandra's son Michael. Oh...if only he knew what blackmail of a picture he gave us. Noah and his art work. If you look carefully this is a picture of Natali. He wrote her name but it is all over the place Here is a self portrait of himself (he insisted on s...

Health Update

Okay... So since Dr. Baker told me my holter monitor was not good and put me on Toporol. I just have been agitated to say the least and uneasy about everything. I have to admit I didn't want to think about things or deal with things either. I would just rather ignore it and hope it all goes away. After my last two conversations with Dr. Baker I haven't been extremely impressed by how he reacts to the situation. No actually since I have been seeing him I can't say I am thrilled about his responses to things. (Except when Nathan is there) he acts much differently with Nathan there. But compared to the cardiologist I saw prior to him he is GREAT! So, moving from Dr.'s to Dr.'s to Dr.'s is a lot of work and it makes me feel...um "picky" and "spoiled" to say the least. I hate feeling that way and I hate feeling like "I just want it the way I want it and that's that" because really that is not at all how I feel. I just want my heart ...

100 Things about Nathan

Image
I want to focus on something positive and since you always hear from me I thought I would let you into a little bit of Nathan's life... Here is a little about 100 things about Nathan from Ruth's perspective He is the baby of 4. He has 2 Sisters and 1 brother He is brilliant He is self motivated He was nicknamed Nasty Nate in high school because he had some allergy issues and for a period of time was eating rice cakes and tuna fish for for his lunches. So he got the nickname of Nasty Nate from that. He is a computer junkie. AKA Nerd! He is married to the most beautiful women in the world! He married a woman with the same name as his Mother. (odd but true) He loves to make funny faces at himself in the mirror. He often reminds me of a Fooglie when do that. (Spy Kids if you haven't seen it) He loves his diet coke! He is a work a holic He loves airplanes He owns an airplane He however, does not have his pilots license....yet He loves building and shooting off model rockets He ...

Nothing really new to report

I was scheduled to have a T Wave test done today. He wanted me on the Beta Blocker Toporol for a week before having the test done. I really kept an open mind and tried to focus on making things better. Well, after taking Toporol things started to get worse. But since the medication stated it could take a week to regulate in my system I tried to ignore what I was feeling but did write it down just in case. Yesterday, things were not getting better, only worse, and so I phoned the Dr.'s office. Well, he decided he wanted to meet with me before the test. So when I got there then they tied to pull a fast one on me and just try to get me to do the test before talking to him but I convinced him to at least hear my concerns. He obliged. After telling him all that I had experienced he said I convinced him I needed to come off the Toporol and take the T wave next week off the Toporol. I assured him that if he thought it was best I would do the test today on the Toporol but he said No and s...

100 things about me!

My Sister in law started this and I need to "waste" some time while I try to get my kids to sleep so I thought yeah...this could be fun. 1. Let's start with the obvious. I am a wife to Nathan and a very happy wife. He spoils me rotten what can I say, don't mistake us we have our imperfections but I love be married to him and glad God sent him to me, that he was patient with me while we were dating because he had every right to kick me in the heiney and never forgive me. 2. I am a mother! I love that too! I have three adorable wonderful children. Natali is 5, Noah is 4, and Kathryn is 1 (almost 2) they fill my days with wonder, excitement, smiles, tears, frustrations, laughter but mostly pure joy. I am glad to call them mine. 3. I have a dog, his name is Zeus, he is 3 almost 4. He drives me batty. I call him my triplets, but nonetheless he is a great dog seeing as he lets Kate roll all over him, pull on his tail and ears and he just lays there and takes it. What a good...

So...if you will and can would you please keep my Mom in your thoughts and prayers. She was admitted to the hospital after having a severe migraine that wouldn't go away. She had it for about a week and then got so unbearable she called her Dr. who told her to call 911 as my Dad was out and about and my sister was at work. When they first admitted her they thought she had had a stroke but the scan came back clear and diagnosed her with a severe sinus infection. Well from the time she was admitted to sometime around 2 am she had a stroke. She can speak but her speech is slurred and she has very little movement. She can move her right arm but that is about it. She didn't have much strength before the stroke in the rest of her body to begin with. They also discovered that she has a hole in her heart. They are going to do an less invasive surgery to correct that next week. She is scared and really wants me there and I feel so bad that I can't be there for her right now. I just...

Heavenly Father Loves Me!

I just want everyone to know that although I am struggling right now emotionally with everything going on. I do know that Heavenly Father loves me. I do know that Jesus Christ suffered much more than I am now or ever will on my behalf as well as everyone else. Yes, I have questions running through my head of why this? why now? Yes, I am or was angry (I haven't decided yet if I am still angry) about the situation and really when I put it into perspective my Mother in law asked me well "who are you angry with?" I told her I don't know I can't blame the Dr. he didn't make my heart go all wacky? I can't blame the surgeon, he made me better than I was before surgery. I can't blame myself although I try to find many reasons but it won't make the situation any different. I finally came to the conclusion that Heavenly Father has all power to heal and make this right and he created me.... so it's His fault. Now don't get me wrong. I love him! But...

Another family home evening

Image
Well, yesterday was a really rough day for me (see following post) so when it came time for Family Home Evening I didn't have it in me and it was late and the kids needed to get to bed anyway soon. So we decided to just have the kids bear their testimony. It was Kate's first time and they each did it about three times. They just LOVE this family home evening. The first couple of times Kate just stood and smiled the last time she started trying to talk (but it just came out ah... ahh...ahh) Pictures not in any specific order Kate bearing her testimony Noah bearing his testimony Natali gets shy and then said she just needed to right it down. Now she just of course scribbled on the paper and then said what was in her heart so one day she will drop the papers and just say it since she knows it. Natali giving a scripture and Daddy helping We danced to "Shrek in the Swamp Karoke Dance Party. The kids just love to dance to it. Natali teaching Kate a dance. She is following along...

A Broken Heart

Image
Well I have hesitated even posting this but I know people can see through me and you know how things work, people find out, good news travels fast, bad news travels faster. I have purposely avoided talking to people today because I didn't want to talk about it. Emotionally right now I am just lost and numb and angry. I am not really sure how to put it into words really. The best way I can describe it is my heart is just broken or crushed. I know I should just have more faith and just cheer up and deal with it(and I will) but frankly I am really struggling with this one. I don't think ever in my life until now can I say I felt my heart was broken until yesterday. You all know I had heart surgery. Well, there have been ups and downs but overall I have been able to handle things really well until yesterday when my follow up with my cardiologist didn't go well. Don't get me wrong it could be worse and the way I am making it sound it probably sounds like they have given ...

Family Home Evening

Image
I decided to snap pictures this Monday the kids were being just so darn cute (not very often during family home evening does this happen. So here are some fun pictures not in a particular order. For your information the lesson was on Being a good citizen. Natali animatedly explaining an answer to a question The closing prayer (Noah bouncing his feet) Dad giving the lesson this week Natali singing or explaining something once again (our jabber mouth) Mom is distracting them with the camera Kate raising her hand, she wants a turn. How cute is that? Noah finally getting to answer a question

Our Sunday

Image
Well, our Sunday was kind of eventful. We were asked to speak in Sacrament meeting. I tend to think they usually ask someone to speak if they are just moving in or just moving out, or if they are in a calling that specifically relates to the subject at hand. (for example Ward Mission Leader/missionary work) well, none of those applied. The Bishop asked us to speak out of pure desperation. LOL! No really obviously he was moved by the spirit to ask us even though apparently his counselors were suppose to speak and they were both suppose to be gone yesterday. But neither one of them were. Nonetheless we still spoke. Nathan also got a new calling. He was released as Ward Mission leader and is now the Sunday School President. I found out last night my Sister Janalea also talked in Sacrament meeting and she mentioned she posted her talk on her blog. I had never thought of doing that but since she did I thought hmmm...why not... so for those who care and for those who didn't hear it in p...
