4 down 1 to go!

Image
By Golly Gosh! I think she got it! ONE HAPPY!!!!!! So I must admit that potty training every child has been sooooo different. I was always taught that when you go to potty training you go straight to underwear and no turning back...this is what I have to say about that.... HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!! So NOT worth that torture...I guess that is why they did come up with pull ups BUT...they are so freak'in expensive you still are committed to potty training as fast as you can to cut down costs. So yep.. Natali: trained at 18 months....did great...regressed at age 2...Started her again around 2 1/2 but wore pull ups at night until she was 6. Noah: Poor kid got neglected because of major health issues and heart surgery during that time he needed to be potty trained so I didn't get around to it until he was nearly 4. Took one weekend of 4 hours and he had it down! Katie. Started her around 2 1/2. She REFUSED...she had no desire and with ...

Exercise...

My exercising frustrations...warning vent...exit now if you don't want to hear it. Let it be known...this may be a shock to some if you know me well and my health hiccups...I LOVE to exercise. I actually really love going for a walk or even for a run (at my own pace) or dancing or biking and then after working up a sweat feeling like my lungs are "free" I am not sure how to explain it but I love the feeling of being able to really "breathe" when you are all done with exercise. I admit I have limitations but when I do get to exercise I really love it if I could do so without hinderments.  My frustrations is that as a mother...my exercise consists of switching laundry, ironing, running errands such as grocery shopping, making beds, cleaning toilets, and cooking dinner. WHOOPDIDOO! Unfortunately that doesn't give me that "free" feeling of a good workout. So I have tried to do other things like walking with friends. I love hanging with my friends ...

Why no wheat?

Image
Just for clarification we are not going "flourless" or complete gluten-free...we are going wheatless for 30 days in March. So a few people have wondered why no wheat for a month...frankly if someone else had suggested they were doing the same thing I would have told them they were nuts and that it was unhealthy and unwise to try and cut something out of their diet cold turkey like that...BUT...there are a few reasons why we have decided to try this new adventure...these are not in order of importance it is all randomized if there even is an order of importance. I can't say that there is. I am going to be bluntly honest so hopefully it doesn't offend anyone I know or love. 1. Nathan is concerned about Natali's weight. She is a little "chunky" for her age compared to some...but at this age there is no telling how "unhealthy" it might be for her because family dynamics differ so much from one family to another so they do a percentage for c...

What ARE we thinking?

Image
So Nathan proposed an idea last night that has me excited but also nervous! He suggested that just for one month we go FLOURLESS! (aka pretty much gluten-free). I will be honest we are bread people. We love our bread and crackers and cake and cookies...so this will be an interesting feat. I asked him if he would hold it against me if I quit after a week in? He said of course! J/K...he didn't say that. So we posed the ideas to the kids and they seem excited but I really don't think the reality of what they CANNOT have has hit them yet. I guess after they find out they pretty much can't have any hot lunch at school and that lunches will leave something to be desired for the month of March this should prove to be interesting...although the three older kids are not my biggest concern. It is the younger kids who thrive on macaroni and cheese and chicken nuggets for lunch. LOL...we shall see how this works out. So I have less than a week to figure out gluten free brea...
